Aragosta

This sculpture depicts a lobster made entirely of aluminium worked by hand using the technique of embossing and chiselling. The metal, modelled with precision, builds the structure of the animal through segments, joints and punched surfaces that recall the complexity of its carapace.

The lightness of the aluminium contrasts with the animal's idea of solidity, while the long antennae and slender legs introduce a sense of movement and tension into the space.

The work explores the relationship between observation of nature and transformation of matter, where metal becomes organism, structure and living form.
