Bubbles

This work stems from an exploration of the relationship between matter and void.

A golden aluminium sheet is pierced through a constellation of circular apertures of different sizes, creating a structure reminiscent of cellular shapes and natural organisms.

The metal surface, stretched between the different holes, generates a fragile balance between solid and open space. The irregular edges of the openings reveal the manual gesture of workmanship and transform the sheet into an organic texture that seems to expand in space.

Behind the perforated surface emerges a second metal depth that amplifies the dialogue between light, shadow and reflection. The work is thus constructed on several perceptual levels: structure, light and void become compositional elements as much as the material itself.

The result is a form that oscillates between geometric abstraction and biological structure, where the aluminium loses its surface rigidity and becomes a dynamic system of spatial relationships.

Technique: embossing, cutting and handwork on aluminium.
