Specchio Nero (Black Mirror) is born from the encounter between the luminous surface of aluminium and a dark depth that absorbs the gaze. The metal relief, embossed on a thin slab, builds a structure that emerges from the surface and dialogues with the deep black of the background.
The latter, obtained through acrylic and resin, does not function as a simple colour but as a visual space that captures light and modifies its perception. The contrast between reflection and absorption creates a tension between surface and depth.
The work thus investigates the relationship between light and darkness, transforming metal into a field of perception where what appears and what disappears coexist in the same image.
